Highlights of 2019!
With New Year just around the corner and the end of a decade on the horizon, we have been reflecting on our achievements and the various highlights that have made 2019 a special one for the team here at Charitable Giving.
Compliance
We have passed our ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and Cyber Essentials Plus audits again this year.
Having been the first Payroll Giving Agency to achieve these accreditations in 2018, we are pleased to be able to say we have maintained them in 2019. We hope that this provides all our clients with extra assurance in our practices, please call us for more info.
The Team
We are excited to welcome two new Business Administration apprentices.
Alex, who joined us in September and Rebecca who joined at the beginning of November, bringing our team back up to 14 again. Both have settled in quickly and have begun making a valuable contribution to the team’s efforts.
Rosie has successfully gained a place at Plymouth University to pursue a high-level apprenticeship in Digital Technology Solutions – well done Rosie and good luck, your new skills will be a huge asset to the team.
The departure of our much-loved team member Tony was certainly a low point, but we wish him well as he puts his counselling skills to good use at a local charity.
On the up side, the Laser Tag evening we arranged to give him a good send-off was most definitely a highlight of the year as the team appeared as they had never been seen before!
We have a new office mascot, adorable Labrador pup, Ted!
Ted belongs to team member Matt and joins us in the office two days a week. Little Ted, fast turning into ‘Big Ted’ though!

Payroll Giving Scheme
Our own Payroll Giving scheme has achieved the Diamond Quality Mark again this year. Over 90% of Charitable Giving staff making Payroll Giving donations and our donations go to a variety of UK charities.
Giving Tuesday
For Giving Tuesday 2019 we joined forces with The Mary Budding Trust to give Whitchurch Primary School an early Christmas gift. We gave The Mary Budding Trust a cheque that was used to buy a large bubble lamp for pupils to enjoy in the school’s multi sensory Ark Centre.
Whitchurch Primary School Headteacher, Angela O’Shea-Warman, expressed her gratitude for the generous gift saying that it was something that the school would not be able to buy and how much it will benefit the children.
The Mary Budding Trust supports children with additional needs, aged eleven or under, living within the area of Okehampton, Tavistock and surrounding villages, by providing grants and equipment.
Payroll Giving Awards
We also celebrated success at the 2019 National Payroll Giving Excellence Awards on the 18th of November, at The Mercers’ Hall in London. We were pleased to see many of our clients at the event and to be able to congratulate them on winning awards for their Payroll Giving achievements over the past year.
Winning clients included:
- Beaverbrooks the Jewellers
- The Entertainer
- BT
and many more were Highly Commended and Diamond Quality Mark Award winners!
The full results can be found here.
Celebrating the year
We had a fantastic Christmas Party at Moorland Garden Hotel on the evening of the 13th of December. It provided us with the perfect opportunity to come together and celebrate all our personal & business achievements over the past year. After a lovely meal, we all headed on to the dance floor to ‘let our hair down’ - turns out some of us have some secret dancing talents!
It was the perfect end to the year and we now look forward with excitement for the year ahead with continual improvements and achievements at the forefront of our minds.
We hope to have lots more good news to share with you all over the next 12 months and wish each of you a fantastic 2020.
